I’ll be the first to admit it…
This one got me. 🎧
Months back, Facebook slid a song into my timeline called Slow Orbit.
It was by some new artist named Nyah Rose.🗣️
It grabbed my attention immediately.
I don’t know how it got into my algorithm, but I searched and found it on Spotify.
Before I knew anything about who or what was behind it, I had that joint on repeat 10 or 20 times.
No shame in my game.
I 💜 music.
The groove was smooth.
The vocals had that Neo Soul R&B feel.
The production carried that late ’90s and early 2000s Soul that I love.💽
I honestly thought I had discovered a new independent artist.
So I started digging.
That’s when I learned that Nyah Rose doesn’t appear to be a traditional recording artist.
Slow Orbit was released as a single last November, through 1MS Music.
It later appeared on the six-track EP Ethereal in 2026.
Everything points back to AI music platform Suno.
The song is real.
The artist…Nyah Rose
Maybe not in the way we’re used to.
Here’s the thing, though.🔊
I loved the song before I knew any of that.
I’ve been listening to music since the mid ’70s.
I’ve watched people dismiss rap, sampling, drum machines, Auto-Tune, and even DJs as “not real music.”
Now AI is next in line.
Let me be clear.
I don’t support AI cloning the voice, face, or identity of real artists like Whitney, Luther, MJ, Prince, or Beyoncé without permission.
That’s not innovation; that’s theft.
But an original AI-created artist with original music?🎶
That’s a different conversation.
As long as it’s transparent, ethical, and not built on someone else’s identity, I’m willing to listen.
As a DJ, I ask myself a couple of questions;We’re the lyrics dope?
Does the track make me feel something?

For me, Slow Orbit did.
Maybe that’s the real story.
Not whether Nyah Rose is “real,” but whether the feeling was.
Music has never stood still.
Every generation has introduced a sound that made the previous one uncomfortable.
Maybe AI isn’t the end of music.
Maybe it’s just the beginning of another chapter.
